Follow these steps to upload metadata to the files in a data source.
Choose your data source
Go to Media -> Data Sources then select the Data Source page that you want to upload file metadata to.
Configure metadata upload
On the bottom right you'll see the panel entitled 'Upload metadata'
Upload metadata panel
Steps to upload metadata
- Select CSV - Choose the CSV file on your computer of the metadata you want to associate with the files. The CSV must contain a column called 'ImageFile'. Uploaded metadata will be validated against the selected metadata schema, then saved against matching files. You will receive an email when the process is complete.
- Metadata schema - Choose the metadata schema that the data in the CSV is validated against. If you haven't created one yet, please ask Silverpond to do this for you.
- Overwrite existing metadata with same keys? - If ticked, any metadata that exists on a file will be overwritten by uploaded metadata with the same key.
Submit
Click the 'Submit' button to submit. Once submitted, a banner on that page will notify you if the upload process has been successfully initiated.
The processing occurs in the background - once completed, you will receive an email with the results at the email address of your HighLighter user account with the results. This indicates the number of files in the data source that were changed/unchanged by the import.
