Actions

  • Click on an image Annotation to edit Object Class, Attributes or delete it
  • Hover over image and use mouse scroll to zoom in and out
  • Click on the image where there is no Annotation and hold down the mouse to move the image

  • Click top left then bottom right to create a Boundary Box
  • New Boundary Boxes will automatically open the Annotation Attribute Edit panel



Auto Segment tool

  • Select the Auto Segment tool
  • Use the Paintbrush Size to create an area in the image that covers the object you want to label. The Paintbrush Size appears when the Auto Segment tool is selected. It is located on the right hand side of the screen under the Object Classes

  • The area is visible as a grey box on the image

  • Click on an object in the image within the grey area that you want to label
  • A new Boundary Box will be created and the Annotation Attribute Edit panel will be opened


If the segmented area needs to include multiple parts of an image:

  • Select the Auto Segment tool
  • Hold down the shift key to select multiple parts of an image (ensuring they are within the grey area)
  • Use the Pointer tool to select the multiple areas that you have labeled and go to Edit/Merge Annotations to join them into one label

If the segmented area needs to be reduced:

  • Use the eraser tool to remove unwanted areas of the label

Actions

  • If you click on an area in an image with the Auto Segment Prompt tool it will label all parts of the image that match that selection (note this will only include parts of the image that are within the grey area - see the grey are covered in the Auto Segment tool guide above)

  • Use the eraser tool to remove areas of a label

  • Displays Annotation Attributes for a Annotation that has been selected with the Pointer tool
  • Click on Edit to open form

  • Click on an image to show that image in the annotation tool
  • Note: navigating away from the Annotation Tool or to a new image will remove any Annotations that have not been submitted

Flag Image

  • Add notes to a selected image
  • Any image flagged and the corresponding notes will be listed in the export report as a “Flagged Assessment”
  • On flagging an image the image is submitted and removed from the image queue
  • Any Annotations on the image will also be submitted when the image is flagged

Submit

  • When Annotations are complete, click on Submit for the images and their Annotations to be processed, and new images to appear for inspection
  • Submitted images will be removed from the Image queue
  • Annotations are validated to ensure all required attributes have been set in the Annotation Attribute Form for the corresponding Annotation

Image Annotation History

  • A record is kept of Annotations attributed for each image.
  • Click on a recorded entry to see the history of Annotations for that image

  • Shortcut key - Corresponding Object Class number to select that Object Class
  • The assigned Object Class will be highlighted in the list when an Annotation is selected in the image
  • The Object Class selected in the list will be assigned to any new Annotation made using the Boundary Box Tool
  • Search for an Object Class using the search bar

Annotation List

  • Shortcut key - ‘Delete’ or ‘Backspace’ key to delete a selected Annotation
  • Lists all the Annotation on an image
  • Clicking on a list item highlights the Annotation in the image and displays its Annotation Attributes
  • Delete an Annotation by clicking on the corresponding ‘bin’ icon in the list or the Delete key when an Annotation is selected

Search and view modes

  • Shortcut key - ‘S’ Show Annotations matching search filter only
  • Shortcut key - ‘A’ Show all Annotations
  • Shortcut key - ‘L’ to open the search bar
  • Select Hide to hide all annotations
  • Select the ‘tag’ icon to show or hide the Annotation labels and fill so that just the bounding box will appear
  • Search drop down allows you to select Defect Annotation only view

Annotated image

  • Machine Annotations will appear with a dashed line border in the colour of the assigned Object Class
  • Manual Annotations will appear with a solid line border and transparent fill in the colour of the assigned Object Class

  • ID - unique HighLighter assigned ID for that image
  • Filename - file name of uploaded image
  • Dimensions - pixel size of the image
  • Image metadata - displays any metadata that has been uploaded with the image
