Augmented Inspection

Manual Inspection

Combination of Augmented and Manual Inspection

Augmented Inspection

  1. Go to a video that is to be inspected

  2. Click on Start to begin

  3. Begin identifying objects in the video using the: Point in the video Similarity track and video view, or the All video Similarity Pop up box, or combination of both

  • Point in the video Similarity track and video view

  • Locate and click on an object in the video that the ML has generated a bounding box for

  • Label the object using the Attribute Entity Edit box that appears bottom left of screen when you select or create a bounding box. (The Attribute Entity Edit box is located in the second screen if you have activated that via the link in the Objects panel)

  • Select the Clone tool or the Copy Taxon tool

  • Activate the Similarity feature - Type “n” - this will identify all Objects in the video that the ML recognises as similar to the one

  • Mark on the video timeline the point in the video that you are up to. This maker will enable you to come back to the point in the video. (See tips below for how to use the marker feature)

  • Scroll through the track panel to find the point in the video where the maximum number of tracks appear - this is the potential MaxN for that object. (Select the FPP (Frames Per Pixel setting to show more or lease of the video in the tracking panel)

  • Select any object you want to apply the cloned or copied taxon label to

  • If needed, use the boundary tool to select an object in the video that the ML has not already selected

  • Assign taxonomy via the Attribute Edit box bottom left of the site or via the Clone tool or the Copy Taxon tool

  • All video Similarity Pop up box

  • Locate and click on an object in the video that the ML has generated a bounding box for

  • Type in “b” or click on the icon in the toolbar

  • In the pop up box select All or shift select individual tracks that match the object you are labelling

  • Assign a taxonomy by clicking on the Attribute Edit and selecting a taxonomy then clicking on Update

  1. Reviewing MaxN

    • Click Second Screen (bottom of the Objects panel top right of the site) - this will open a separate browser tab that you can move to a different screen/monitor or overlay on the current browser window

    • This Second Screen view lists all the MaxN’s that you have generated. You can click on each MaxN to take you to the point in the video where that MaxN appears

    • You can click on the name of the object in the MaxN View to filter the video to show just that object

  2. Submit

    • Labels are auto saved so that if you come back to that video another time they will still be there. When you have competed labelling a video, click on Submit to finalise the inspection

  3. Export report

Manual Inspection

Manually identifying and objects in a video

As per the Augmented Inspection steps outlined above but not using the Similarity features in step 2. i.e. chronologically working through the video to identify and label objects for MaxN.
